Acne Scarring
![]() |
The term "acne scarring" refers to an occasion where collagen within the upper skin is damaged from excess inflammation, leading to permanent texture changes.
Prevention of acne scars is quite different from person to person, but one remedy remains consistent across the board: identification and proper treatment of acne early in the process.
There are two general types of acne scars, those being: 1- scars caused by increased formation of tissue, and 2- scars caused by the excessive loss of tissue.
Before you move forward with treating acne scars, have an in-depth conversation with your dermatologist to discuss your best options.
